Should I go ahead and read those of should I get The Bane Chronicles and Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy? Are those companion books worth reading in general? I ask because sometimes books listed as 'companion' in some series end up feeling like either pointless asides or heavily retread elements covered in other books.Īnyway, I feel a little lost but I don't want to Google too much and get spoiled!ĭo you mean TID? I hadn't seen this happen before so I thought I was safe to just read through to the end before worrying about it, but all the references to things deep in the past got me suspicious. I hadn't done much research into the series in terms of reading order beyond knowing that TMI came first, but I didn't realize (until partway through book 6) that the prequel series been released alternatingly with the second half of the first series.
